Looking for accommodation tips at Ottawa, Canada
Hi all!
I'm right now looking for accommodations in Ottawa, Canada. I'm going to do a presentation about Npgsql at PGCon2008 and as I never went to Ottawa I don't know of any good place to stay. If you have any tips about cheap hotels, hostels or anything , please, let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Update: I'd really really thank you all of those who gave me tips about places in Ottawa. I already did my reservation and hope to see you there at PGCon2008!!

I booked the Best Western Victoria Park Suites. I just used a hotel search engine to look for hotels in the vicinity of the conference venue. If you stay within walking distance, you should do fine with any choice. There aren't any "bad" areas to avoid or something like that.

By far the spiffiest place is the Chateau Lauier, which is a hotel built in an old castle. If you want something a bit more practical, I suggest staying at the residence hall on campus; it's the closest place to the actual event, and very close to the Royal Oak pub. ;-)
In any case, make sure to check out the maps on the pgcon website.

There is a great little hostel downtown called the Ottawa Backpacker's Inn.

It is maybe a 10 minute walk from the university.
I work right near there and use the hostel as a place to round up subjects for testing our software.

expedia.ca is a good hotel search engine. There are dozens of hotels downtown within walking distance.
